Get Fit Whilst Knitting

A knitting circle in Bar Harbor, Maine, meet once a week to combine knitting with indoor walking with a view to improving fitness.
Michelle McCann, who started the group, said:
“We often think about knitting as kind of being on the couch, so it's useful to make it a little bit more aerobic, and of course, there's lots of ways you could do that. So I started just knitting around the track and hoping other people would join me. And then we decided maybe we should have a regular time and place to do this.
"We've been averaging about nine or ten people for our group. Some people come because they're on their lunch hour. So they're able to join us. I have been knitting hats in the round which I find is the easiest kind of knitting to do when going around a track."
Michelle says, it's easier than it sounds.
"Of course the track is ideal because you're just going in circles and it's a smooth surface under your feet. There's only one stitch that you absolutely have to know. If you learn two stitches, then you're totally off and running."
"No pun intended?"

Whatever next? A fencing workout with straight needles instead of swords?

Or a really long circular needle for skipping rope?

Endless possibilities!

And as a sucker for a good story, I would love to tell that you’re exactly right. Like the Roadrunner cartoon character, my hands move so fast, all you can see is a blur.     Is it any wonder this , male model looks a bit glum as he struts the catwalk. He looks far from happy about having to wear this strange attire.  My question is, simply, 'why'? What on earth was going through the mind of the knitwear designer of this outfit? You just couldn't make it up!
